Very sadly, and due to current Covid-19 restrictions on social gatherings and the health and safety of our community, the traditional Remembrance Sunday parade and service at Salcombe War Memorial has been cancelled this year.
The occasion will, however, be marked by the Town Mayor and Vicar on behalf of the whole community on this important day. The simple ceremony will be livestreamed and details of how to access it will be announced nearer the time. We are, therefore, encouraging everyone to find alternative ways of remembering all those who gave their lives for us today by observing your own Two Minutes Silence wherever you are at 11am on Sunday 8th, and also on Wednesday 11th. All wreaths from the many community groups and organisations will have been laid ahead of Remembrance Sunday, which you will be free to come and see, and acknowledge the occasion in your own way at the War Memorial, once the official service has concluded.
