South West Water is starting work on a £1.5million flood alleviation scheme in Salcombe in November 2015.
The project will take eight months to complete and includes constructing nearly 2km of new surface water drains in the town and other improvements.
Work will take place in Robinsons Row from Monday 16 November to Friday 18 December 2015.
Further work will start in the town on Monday 4 January 2016.
Two drop-in sessions were held for residents and businesses to learn more about the scheme on Wednesday 11 November 2015.
South West Water’s Project Manager Andy Young said: “The main purpose of the project is to alleviate flooding to roads and properties and pollution to the estuary.”
