At the public meeting held on 3 October 2017 the Mayor summed up the various proposals as follows:

1. Continue with the current position and renew the existing lease between South Hams District Council (SHDC) and Salcombe Town Council (STC).

2. Negotiate with SHDC for the transfer of the whole of the Berry land (including Plot A) to STC.

3. Negotiate with SHDC for the transfer of the 4 parcels of land (including plot A) with a caveat that there need to be some form of income to cover the maintenance costs.

The consensus of the meeting was that option 2 was the favoured one with the possibility that the other parcels could be negotiated at a later date.
Since then STC have formed a working party to work with the STC solicitor and the Town Clerk in having discussions with SHDC. That working party is made up of the following councillors
• Cllr Mrs Turton
• Cllr Long
• Cllr Mrs Bricknell
The working party are acting on behalf of STC and all decisions regarding the development of any land transfer will be made by the full Council.
