As Salcombe begins the long process of easing the Government restrictions due to the Coronavirus crisis, we are very much looking forward to seeing our businesses and shops reopening their doors and welcoming back customers, old and new. We are still hopeful an announcement will be forthcoming soon regarding second homes, holiday homes, camping and caravan sites being allowed to open, and also our longsuffering pubs, restaurants and café businesses, but we understand the cautious route being taken to unlock our towns and villages.
Your Town Council is working with South Hams District Council and Devon County Council to put in place Covid-secure measures to help everybody navigate the new rules with regard to Social Distancing, and you will find signage to help you understand how to help yourself and those around you as life begins to normalise in Salcombe.
Please be prepared to wear face coverings in enclosed spaces and on public transport, wash your hands and/or use hand sanitiser as often as possible, be vigilant to your own safety when using public toilets and leave them as you would wish to find them, and if a refuse bin is full then use the next one or take your rubbish home with you.
We as a Town are very much looking forward to seeing all our visitors once again, now that the situation has moved on, and we hope that you will continue to think of others as you enjoy all that Salcombe has to offer whilst you are on holiday.
